Platform Architect / Technical Lead (Python + AWS + Geospatial)

We’re hiring a Platform Architect / Technical Lead to design, build, and ship an AI-powered geospatial analytics platform for a Swedish technology company. The platform ingests satellite imagery and sensor data, processes it through AI/ML inference pipelines, and exposes the results via a WebGIS interface. You will own the architecture, drive technical decisions, and write critical code. The role involves working closely with the client’s CEO and AI/ML engineer, ensuring production readiness, scalability, and reliability. The stack includes Python, REST API, GeoJSON, AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and geospatial data modeling. You’ll also handle logging, monitoring, authentication, and RBAC. Candidates must be based in Europe and work remotely.
Key responsibilities include:
• Designing and evolving the platform architecture
• Writing production‑grade code in Python
• Leading technical decisions and code reviews
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Integrating AI/ML models into the production workflow
• Managing data ingestion and processing pipelines
• Ensuring security, monitoring, and compliance
• Collaborating with the client’s leadership and engineering teams
The position is full‑time, remote (Europe only), and requires a senior level of experience.

- Proven track record of delivering geospatial platforms (WebGIS, spatial data platforms) to production
- 7+ years in software development, including several years as a tech lead, architect or CTO
- Hands‑on mindset: you still write code and work with infrastructure yourself
- Strong AWS experience: architecture, deployment, cloud operations
- Python backend development and integrating AI/ML models into production
- PostgreSQL/PostGIS and geospatial data modeling
- Production data ingestion and processing pipelines
- Logging, monitoring, authentication and RBAC
- English B2+
- Nice to have: satellite data experience (especially SAR), ESA/EU space programs, Swedish language
