Firebird is an international online travel company that organizes trips to Europe for customers worldwide. We have a dedicated software development department that focuses on internal products. The SQL Developer will work on a high‑load train scheduling system that processes large volumes of real‑time railway route data. The system is built on MariaDB and includes complex logic for caching, task queue processing, and query optimization. Your responsibilities will include designing, writing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions, as well as tuning database schemas and indexes. You will also work with Flyway migrations, Linux/Unix automation scripts, and CI/CD pipelines. The role requires deep knowledge of MariaDB/MySQL, performance tuning, and experience with high‑load systems. Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Percona Toolkit, Redis, MongoDB, and cloud database services such as AWS RDS or Google Cloud SQL is a plus. The position is full‑time and fully remote.

- 5+ years of experience with MariaDB/MySQL and a deep understanding of database architecture and optimization
- Expert‑level SQL knowledge (complex queries, window functions, CTEs, subqueries)
- Experience developing stored procedures and functions in MySQL/MariaDB
- Proficiency in performance optimization of queries and database schemas
- Strong understanding of indexing and optimization strategies for large datasets
- Experience with Flyway or similar database migration tools
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and bash scripting for automation
- 5+ years of commercial SQL development
- Experience with high‑load systems (processing millions of records)
- Knowledge of database design principles and normalization
- Experience working in a team using version control systems (Git)
